About Meredith Carroll
I'm a passionate interior designer dedicated to crafting spaces that seamlessly blend artistry, functionality, and wellness to elevate the human experience. In my role as president of the Interior Design Organization at Winthrop University,
I've refined my leadership abilities by spearheading
initiatives that cultivate creativity and collaboration
within the design community.
I recently earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design
and a minor in Art with a specialization in sculptural design, which has deepened my creative process and amplified my capacity to deliver distinctive design solutions. My design ethos revolves around a holistic approach to wellness design, where I strive to create environments that enhance physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Drawing inspiration from nature, sustainable practices, and diverse cultures, my aim
is to craft spaces that foster harmony and balance for all individuals and communities who inhabit them. I'm excited to continue my journey in the design industry, creating spaces and art that not only please the senses but also enrich the lives of those who choose to experience them.
IDO | IIDA Involvement
As president of the IDO, the board members and I revitalized the organization, built community through branding, organized fundraising events, and engaged with the local design community. A major achievement was establishing the first IIDA Student Campus Chapter in South Carolina, leading to my representation of the state at the SHIFT IIDA Student Conference in Dallas, Texas. I also returned to my high school's interior design program to inspire future designers. These experiences have shaped my leadership skills and passion for interior design.
Study Abroad
During my study abroad trip for interior and architecture in France and Spain, I had the amazing opportunity to explore iconic landmarks such as the Louvre, Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, and Sagrada Familia. In France, we visited Paris, Avignon, Provence, and Mont Saint-Michel. In Spain, we explored Barcelona, Granada, and Madrid, immersing ourselves in the rich history and culture of each city. I also ventured off to explore more of my personal interest including Casa Vicens, Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya, Fundació Joan Miró, and Antoni Gaudí's candelabras which added depth to my experience abroad.
